2. How long does it take to get the software?

3. How do I register my copy?

4. My NXT 2.0 does not connect with the PC. What should I do?
There are several checks that you can do:
  1. Verify that the game controller is working properly. This means: correctly plugged, and showing response in the Control Panel.
  2. Make sure that your PC has Bluetooth hardware installed.
  3. Verify that the Bluetooth software is working in your PC. For example, pair your PC with a cell phone.
  4. Verify that the UUID of your NXT 2.0 is the one that you sent with your payment.
  5. Make the correct Bluetooth pairing between your PC and the NXT 2.0.
  6. Make sure that you are using the Bluetooth COM port corresponding to your NXT 2.0.
  7. Verify that the "Connect" button of the NXTdrone application has been clicked.

5. What is the range of the remote control?
The range depends on the Bluetooth hardware in your PC, and in the NXT 2.0.
Tipically, the range is about 10 meters.
We have made tests with results in the range from 5 meters to 40 meters.

6. How many motors can this remote control application manage?
NXTdrone can set the speed, forward and reverse, of the three motors (A, B and C) of the standard set.

7. Which sensors can this application read?
The standard set has two touch sensors. Both can be read with this application.

8. What are the control modes?
There are three control modes:
  1. In automatic mode, motors A and B to power your model (for example, providing the tracking force) using the right control for continuos speed variation, and motor C to provide extra control (steering, for example) using the left knob. Motor C is set to have less power than A and B, to have finer control of your model. This can be set in the Steering tab, Handling slider.
  2. In manual mode, the buttons 1, 2, 3 and 4 are set to provide predefined levels of power to motors A and B, being motor C same as in the previous case.
  3. In skid mode, motor A can be controlled with the left knob, and motor B with the right one. Motor C will be disconnected.

9. How many NXT 2.0 bricks can be controlled at the same time?
NXTdrone can control one NXT 2.0 brick at a time.

10. Are the sources of this application available?

This application does not need Administrator's rights to run.

15. I've given the registered version of the application to a friend, but his/her NXT 2.0 does not work with it. What is going on?
Each registered copy of NXTdrone is personalized for a specific NXT 2.0 brick.

17. What do I need to run this application?
  1. Hardware:
    1. Personal Computer (PC) with working Bluetooth stack.
    2. Lego Mindstorms® NXT 2.0.
    3. Game controller/pad.

    2. NXTdrone application properly registered.

18. Which game controllers have been tested?
We have tested this system using a generic game controller, and the Xbox 360 Wireless controller.
